COMPOSITION
Each ml contains taurine 0.04 g.

THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
- Dystrophic affections of nervous tunic of eyeball;
- Inherited tapetoretinal eye degeneration;
- Dystrophy and injuries of cornea;
- Cataract of different origin;
- Glaucoma (open-angle).

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Known hypersensitivity to taurine.

ADVERSE EFFECTS
Allergic reactions may occur.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Only for local use. Two drops of Bestoxol are instilled in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye 3-4 times daily unless otherwise prescribed by doctor. At cataracts the preparation is used in the form instillations by 2-3 drops 2-4 times daily for 3 months. Treatment courses are repeated with 1 month interval. At traumas it is used at the same doses for 1 month. At glaucoma (open-angle) the preparation is used in the form of instillations twice a day 20-30 minutes prior to instillation of timolol.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
In patients with glaucoma (open-angle) significant increase of hypotensive action in case of co-application of Bestoxol with timolol. Such increase is achieved at the expense of flow easiness coefficient and decrease of aqueous humor production.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
There is no sufficient experience in application of the drug during pregnancy, lactation and in pediatric practice. The drug application is possible only under physician's prescription if an expected curative effect exceeds risk of the development of serious side effects.

MANUFACTURED FORM
10 ml plastic vial with a dropper and screwing protective cap, equipped with protective ring.
