PHARMACOLOGIC PROPERTIES
SlezaVit is a combined preparation containing a complex of vitamins, microelements and herbal carotenoids.
Pharmacologic action of the product is determined by the effect of constituent vitamins and minerals.
Ascorbic acid regulates capillary penetrability and plays important role in preserving their elasticity, stimulates blood circulation in the organs of vision, brings intraocular pressure down. This vitamin regulates redox body processes and has apparent antioxidant properties, i.e. prevents eye tissues from free radicals affection. Besides, it has antimicrobial action and stimulates injury healing. It has stimulating effect on the whole organism, increases its adapting possibilities, infection resistibility and unfavorable effects.
Vitamin B1 takes part in the process of impulse transmission along the nerve fiber. It takes part in the coordination of nervous, cardiovascular and endocrine systems functioning. It plays key role in ensuring normal energy metabolism.
Vitamin B2 takes part in carbohydrate, protein and fat exchange, in hemoglobin and erythropoietin synthesis. It is required for supporting normal visual function.
Vitamin B6 being coenzyme takes part in amino acids and carbohydrates metabolism. It ensures normal functioning of central and peripheral nervous systems, has positive influence on physical efficiency, supports functioning of nervous and immune systems, as well as skin state.
Vitamin E has antioxidant properties, supports stability of erythrocytes; it positively influences the functions of sexual glands, as well as nervous and muscle tissue. It takes part in the processes of tissue respiration, has impact on the function of endocrine glands, slows down the processes of body tissues aging.
Vitamin A being a constituent of visual pigment rhodopsin is essential for supporting visual function, it ensures normal function of visual analyzer and light perception. It is effective for curing hemeralopy (night blindness), retina and cornea diseases. It takes part in the processes of skin and mucous membrane regeneration.
Zinc favours vitamin A assimilation by retina. Zinc is required for synthesis of insulin, hormones of sexual glands, for normal function of lymphoid tissue. Zinc protects eyes from injuries caused by bright light, UV-radiation or other kinds of oxidative stresses. The deficiency of zinc is considered to cause retinal detachment, worsening of color perception, cataract development.
Selenium is a natural antioxidant that boosts immunity. In combination with vitamins A, E and C it has apparent antioxidant action, improves adapting possibilities of the organism under the influence of environmental hostilities.
Chromium takes part in regulation of carbohydrates exchange and blood level of glucose, it normalizes fats and cholesterol metabolisms, increases cell receptors’ sensitivity to insulin. The microelement is very important for preventing diabetes, diseases connected with weakening sight and cardiovascular diseases.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids important for normal functioning of eye retina, they are major components of shielding and antioxidant eye protection from destructing impact of UV radiance. Having their location in eye lenses and retina lutein and zeaxanthin protect cell photoreceptors from oxigen radicals generating during unfavorable influence of the radiance of various origin on the eye. Low content of lutein and zeaxanthin in eye tissues leads to reducing the ability of the eye to resist hostilities, prolonged visual loads, computer radiance.
Copper is a catalyst of numerous biochemical reactions. It takes part in the melanin synthesis. It plays essential role in the formation of collagen and elastin, it is the required component for iron exchange, it plays an important role in the blood-forming process.
Bilberry anthocyans stimulate synthesis and regeneration of visual pigment rhodopsin, this way enhancing visual acuity, improving adaptation to the darkness and the conditions of low illumination. At the same time the process of retina regeneration is fastened and eye tiredness after prolonged work is reduced.

THERAPEUTICAL INDICATIONS
SlezaVit is recommended for complex therapy of the following states:
-weariness and tiredness of the eyes as a result of prolonged reading, work at personal computer, wearing contact lenses, prolonged driving, influence of bright illumination (asthenopic syndrome, eye tiredness syndrome);
- hemeralopy (worsening of the adaptation mechanisms to the conditions of low illumination or darkness);
- recovery period after ophthalmologic surgeries;
- peripheral and central retina degeneration (chorioretinal dystrophy);
- primary glaucoma;
- treatment and prevention of cataract;
- age-related changes of retina, degeneration processes, refraction anomalies;
- myopia, accommodation derangements, eye tiredness syndrome, retina inflammatory processes;
- treatment and prevention of retinopathy in patients suffering from diabetes and/or hypertonic disease;
- prevention of age-related cataract, senile macular dystrophy, retina diseases;
- xerophthalmia;
- keratomalacia;
- prevention of contact lenses-related complications.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
For oral administration.
Adults and children older than 3 should take 1 capsule of SlezaVit a day during the meal. Patients that are not able to swallow the capsule should open it, pour the content to the spoon and mix with little fluid. The recommended duration of the treatment is 1 – 3 months.
It is recommended to consult a physician prior to administration.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
- individual intolerance or increased sensitivity to the components of SlezaVit;
- age under 3.

ADVERSE EFFECT
Allergic reactions are possible

SPECIAL INDICATIONS
It is not advised to exceed the recommended dose.
The urine may be colored in intense yellow (it is determined by riboflavin and does not have clinical meaning).

ADMINISTRATION DURING PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
The physician takes individual decision about the possibility of product administration during pregnancy.
There are no data about the specific conditions of administration during pregnancy and lactation.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
The simultaneous administration of other multivitamin complexes is not recommended in order to avoid the overdose.

OVERDOSE
In case of accidental overdose the patient should consult a physician.
Treatment: administration of activated carbon, gastric lavage; symptomatic therapy in case of necessity.

Hard gelatin capsules. 15 capsules in blister.
2 blisters in a carton box together with leaflet.

Store in a protected from light and moisture place at temperature not exceeding 25°C.
Keep out of reach of children.
